Terms and Conditions of Family Forest School

Children (and their parents/carers!) benefit most from regular, repeated visits to the forest. The longer children attend Forest Friends, the greater the magic you will see in their development. Therefore, we encourage you to commit to attending regularly and booking for a whole term.

Payment terms

  • Your place can only be secured once payment is received. This also applies to terms subsequent to your first term at Forest Friends.

  • Upon booking for the term, you commit to attending every week for a term. We believe that Forest School is fantastic for your child’s development if they attend regularly.

  • Refunds will only be offered in exceptional circumstances and cannot be offered if you cannot make a session due to illness or weather.

  • We cannot offer refunds on the rare occasion where we have to cancel a session due to dangerous weather.

  • Fees apply to each family. If you bring children from different families, additional fees apply for each family. If you are bringing 4 children from 2 different families, you will need to pay 2 fees etc. Childminders may bring up to 3 children as a 'family'. We are only a very small business so we really value your honesty. Additional fees will not apply if you are bringing children who share one parent or for step-siblings.

  • You are welcome to bring other adults along, like grandparents or friends who are visiting from afar. If your visiting friends/family bring children aged 1-4, we would ask you bring a session fee of £10.00. For children aged 5+, please consider making a donation of £5 per child but you must inform us in advance.

Weather and Cancellations

We believe the woods are a magical place in all weathers and won’t let a bit of rain stop us!

However, there are a few safety points we must follow to remain safe:

  • We will not go out in electrical storms (lightning) or if electrical storms are forecast

  • We will not go out in high winds. When wind speeds or gusts are forecast to be high, we will no longer be insured and will not go out. This is because of increased risk of trees dropping large limbs.

If a session is cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions, Nicola will contact you by 8.15am

What happens if a session needs to be cancelled?

In the very rare event that we have to cancel a session, we look at the circumstances individually. Sometimes we will run an extra session.

If we can’t do this we usually offer families two choices:

• A discount off your next booking

• A refund for that session

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you are unsure about fees.

By paying for Forest Friends you are agreeing to the Terms & Conditions stated above.
